Batman Action Figures

Toys 'R' Us has select Batman action figures on sale for buy one get TWO free. I purchased three of the four packs (two Batmans, a Joker, and a Scarecrow) for $31.99. Because the purchase was over $20, I received free shipping and it was tax free. This is a great deal. If you are wanting to do the other figures (about $11 each) I would recommend going into the store to save on shipping costs.

Hooked On Phonics

I have always been a fan of Hooked on Phonics products, but they can be so expensive. They have every right to charge high prices since their product is proven. I found a great deal for 50% off every item online though. So I decided to stock up! Online deals that do not have free shipping or require large purchases can kill the deal with shipping costs sometimes. In situations like this, I call all of my friends and family and see if they are interested in what I have found. If other people add to your order, you can split shipping costs or bring the order amount up to the free shipping limit. This also ensures that the people you care about can get great deals like you, and that is what I enjoy most.

Vsmile Power Cord

I just learned something terrific! I could not for the life of me find the power adapter for the V-Smile. We unpacked everything within the first few weeks of moving to our new house, but we still were not able to find everything. I decided to experiment and try using the cord from the "I Can Play Piano" game. IT WORKED!!! I Can Play Piano comes with the adapter and is on clearance at most places. The extra one for the V-Smile is at least $15 and we were able to find the I Can Play Piano for $20. Hopefully this little bit of information helps others.

Space Train Set

I purchased a glow in the dark 100 piece wooden space train set from scholastic.com. The set normally costs around $100 or more before shipping. Using promo codes and adding a $10 DVD to the order, I ended up paying just $28.45 for the entire set to be shipped to my home. this will be an exciting addition to our set. I know that everyone will love the aliens. I am not sure how much fun it will be to play with it in the dark though.

FREE Thomas The Train

I received an email the other night that contained a link to a coupon for a free Thomas the Train (or Percy, Peter Sam, or Sir Handel) at Toys 'R' Us. These pieces are usually $12 to $15, so free is a steal! The coupon was one per customer and the store did not even stock extra items for the event so they were gone super fast. These items are good for major Thomas fans, but not worth the regular retail prices. If you are patient you can usually find great deals on wooden train sets that are compatible with the Thomas sets. For Christmas I found a 200 piece set with a free train station at KB Toys for $26 shipped.

Lifetime Swing Set

My husband and I debated for weeks about what type of swing set to buy. We decided to get opinions from everyone we knew. NO WOOD was definitely a shared opinion for everyone. Most people kept telling us to get a Lifetime set. We really liked them and all of the benefits that came with them (high weight capacity, 15 year warranty, durability, etc.), but they were all so expensive. Then we found out that they clearance out their last years models. We purchased the Big Stuff Deluxe' 3-Swing Vinyl Roof Metal Playset. I am glad we decided to just invest in this one right out. We were going to buy a cheap one for this summer and save for a Lifetime one, but at less than half the normal price we decided to just buy it. We did get a better deal because we were able to go to the manufacturer, but no matter which path you take, clearance is definitely a better choice.
